So these dreamy renderings are just that – renderings. Culver City-based SPF: Architects are finalists in the running to design a new performance space for the Cantos National Music Center in Calgary. The building would also be “part museum and part education” in addition to the performance hall. For their presentation, the architects also prepared a small documentary that clarified their creative process, offering insight into the “soul of the project.” According to Architecture Daily, the design includes a bridge floating 33 feet above the street, connecting the two main buildings. The Cantos Center will award the commission in September. Let’s hope Calgary gets a small Culver City magic.
