EaterTastings: Terroni Expands, So Many Shutters, Vinoteque Relocates to Melrose
The latest dish from Eater LA, Curbed’s hedonistic eating and drinking blog…

LOS ANGELES: After a rash of new openings the past few weeks, it seems the culinary apocalypse has finally hit. This week alone there are reports of no less than a half dozen restaurants shutting down. Say goodbye to One Sunset; Murano; Apple in Weho; Luau in BH; Club Sushi in Hollywood; Ma Petit Bakery downtown; and possibly Small Parlor in Pasadena.
WEST HOLLYWOOD: When Vinoteque in Culver City closed a few months ago, no one really expected them to relocate, despite the wine bar’s insistence the shutter was temporary. Lo and behold, it’s back. Soft opening today on Melrose, the grand opening is next Thursday.

Bridge Split: Blogdowntown reports on the potential fate…
Blogdowntown reports on the potential fate of the sick Sixth Street Viaduct, noting the Cultural Heritage Commission wants more information on whether the art deco bridge will have to come down, but they’re also split on what to possibly replace it with: a recreation or something modern. Via the blog: “If it’s going to be a new design, make it something that 50 to 100 years from now will be a historic monument,” said [Commissioner Oz] Scott.” [Blogdowntown, image via]
SoHo House Los Angeles Closer to Opening

Those chain-smoking, foul-tempered Brits are on their merry way: A member of the West Hollywood plotting department confirms that West Hollywood Plotting Commission approved plans for the Soho House–that members’ only British club–for the top of the Luckman Plaza at 9200 Sunset Bvd at a meeting on Wednesday night. Soho House, which has outposts in New York (pictured) and England, has long talked about opening at the top of penthouse of Luckman Plaza at 9200 Sunset, and with the city’s approval, the Soho House (which is now apparently very keen to get going, according to the planner) can start remodeling work.
We are told it was quite a commission meeting, with Felicity Huffman testifying in support of the project, which some Beverly Hills residents had been wary of (party spillage). And Elton John is said to have written a letter of support for the project. Meanwhile, the proposal includes the provision of off-site parking at 9201 Sunset Boulevard. This yacht-shaped house on Mulholland somewhere between Bel Air and Sherman Oaks has five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and an office, and will be available for small- and long-term rentals. Six levels and 11,000 square feet include a pool, two spas, a fire pit, a theater, a gym, a nightclub, a wine cellar, two kitchens, and parking for eight.
